Oscar's Pizza Coming to Highland Brewing This November |
New brewery-campus restaurant honoring founder Oscar Wong plans a limited November 13β15 debut before regular service Thanksgiving week |

A new chapter on Highland Brewing's campus
Highland Brewing is preparing to open Oscar's Pizza at its East Asheville brewery, giving visitors another food option on the 40-acre campus at 12 Old Charlotte Highway.
The new pizzeria is named for Highland Brewing founder Oscar Wong, who helped establish Asheville's craft beer culture and died in 2025.
The brewery has announced a phased opening plan rather than an immediate public opening.
When customers can try it
Oscar's Pizza is expected to offer a limited special-event menu November 13β15 during Highland's 30th anniversary Cold Mountain weekend.
More regular service and an expanded menu are planned during Thanksgiving week, with a formal grand-opening celebration scheduled for December.
These are announced plans as of October 28; guests should check the brewery's current information before making a special trip.
What's on the menu
The concept centers on thin, crispy, made-from-scratch pizza inspired by New Haven style, with influences from New York, Philadelphia and Southern Italy.
Salads and shareable dishes are also planned, with food intended to complement the brewery's beverage offerings.
The project is being developed with Highland's culinary and guest-experience leadership.
Remembering a local pioneer
Oscar Wong began brewing beer in Asheville in 1994, helping lay the groundwork for a much larger craft-beer industry in Western North Carolina.
By naming the restaurant for Wong, Highland is celebrating that history while expanding the campus's role as a place for music, outdoor activities and social gatherings.
The November opening will be a preview, not the final grand-opening event.
Readers can watch for updated hours, menus and event details from Highland Brewing as the November debut approaches. |
