Asheville small business owners still recovering from Helene will soon have a new grant opportunity to watch.

The Asheville Recovers Together Small Business Grant Program opens applications on Monday, June 15, at noon, with grants expected to range from $5,000 to $75,000 for eligible Helene-impacted businesses. Applications are expected to remain open through Tuesday, July 14, at noon.

The program is aimed at local businesses that are still dealing with storm-related losses after Helene. That makes it especially relevant for Asheville’s restaurants, makers, artists, service businesses, neighborhood shops, and other small businesses working to stabilize after months of recovery challenges.

A public kickoff event is also scheduled for June 11 at 9:30 a.m., giving business owners a chance to learn more before the application window opens.

For Asheville, this is more than a grant announcement. Small businesses are part of the city’s daily rhythm, from coffee shops and studios to repair services, restaurants, wellness providers, galleries, and retail spots. Helping those businesses recover helps protect jobs, neighborhood activity, and the local character that makes Asheville feel like Asheville.

Business owners who may qualify should use the time before June 15 to gather documents, review eligibility details, and prepare to apply as soon as the window opens. Because grant programs often require proof of loss, business information, and records of other recovery assistance, getting organized early can make the process smoother.

The takeaway: Asheville small business owners should mark June 15 at noon and watch for official application details through Mountain BizWorks and the Asheville Recovers Together program.
